Honorable Hugo Vargas, Clerk-Commissioner Born in Texas, a 1st-generation American, Commissioner Vargas' family found LaBelle in 1985(where he started the 1st grade) and decided this was the place they’d plant roots and pursue their American Dream. Coming from a migrant family, Commissioner Vargas was raised working in just about every agricultural job the area had to offer. It is here where he learned to work hard, the importance of having a strong work ethic, and the need to do something different to change his life’s course. After finishing high school, he attended Sunstate Academy of Hair & Design and earned his barbers license. Vargas established the World Class Barbershop of LaBelle in 2003 and has been a community staple ever since. He is married to his beautiful wife Natasha and together they have raised their 4 kids in LaBelle. Hugo is humbled and honored to be serving the city he calls HOME!
